Bongino Back At FBI As JD Vance Seeks To Play Mediator

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino returned to his duties on Monday after a disagreement with Attorney General Pam Bondi regarding the management of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation led him to contemplate resigning the previous week, as reported by The Post.

Multiple sources informed CNN that Bongino, aged 50, resumed work after taking a personal day on Friday; however, his future with the agency remains uncertain following the intense discussion with the head of President Trump’s Justice Department.

This week, the FBI and DOJ provided a document summarizing a review of the case against Epstein, who passed away in his Manhattan prison cell on August 10, 2019.

The management of the Epstein files has created a divide among Trump’s MAGA supporters, with some expressing support for Bongino had he chosen to resign in protest of the case’s purported lack of transparency.

Certain MAGA supporters have called for Bondi, who stated in a February Fox News interview that Epstein’s client list was on her desk “to be reviewed,” to be removed from the administration instead. Trump has suggested that a more measured approach should be taken.

Prior to joining the Trump administration, Bongino had long suspected that there was more to the Epstein case than what authorities were disclosing.

The former attorney for the deceased human trafficker Jeffrey Epstein “unequivocally” asserted that Trump is not present on the notorious list of clients that his former client possessed.

David Schoen, who represented Epstein in the final weeks before his death in 2019, disclosed in June that he had inquired with his incarcerated client about any potential compromising information regarding Trump.

These remarks resurfaced on Monday as a new development in the already tumultuous narrative of the Trump administration’s management of Epstein’s files, following a Justice Department memo leaked to Axios last week that concluded the disgraced financier committed suicide and did not keep a “client list” to blackmail elites.

“I was appointed to oversee Jeffrey Epstein’s defense as his criminal attorney just 9 days prior to his passing. He had sought my counsel for several months leading up to that point. I can assert with authority, without ambiguity, and with certainty that he possessed no information that could potentially harm President Trump. I specifically inquired about this!” Schoen stated in a post on X.

Supporters of MAGA are expressing their dissatisfaction with President Trump following his robust defense of Attorney General Pam Bondi, whose Department of Justice has recently denied the existence of a client list associated with Jeffrey Epstein, despite numerous assurances from Trump’s allies to unveil the disgraced financier’s secrets.

Longtime conservatives and loyalists of Trump have taken to social media and expressed their frustration in person at a convention in Florida, asserting that the Epstein scandal “will not dissipate.” The DOJ has concluded that Epstein’s death was a suicide in 2019 and maintains that no list exists identifying the influential individuals allegedly involved in his network of sexual exploitation, as reported by Fox News.

“.@realDonaldTrump please recognize that the EPSTEIN AFFAIR is not going to disappear,” retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, who served as Trump’s national security advisor during his first term, posted on X on Saturday. “If the administration fails to address the multitude of unresolved questions surrounding Epstein, particularly the ABUSE OF CHILDREN BY ELITES (it is abundantly clear that abuse took place), then progressing on many other significant challenges our nation faces will become considerably more difficult.”

In a joint memorandum acquired by Fox News last week, the DOJ and FBI indicated that they had no further information to disclose regarding Jeffrey Epstein’s case or his death.

This announcement triggered internal discord, with FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino reportedly having a confrontation with Attorney General Pam Bondi over what he characterized as a “lack of transparency,” even threatening to resign, according to Fox News.

Epstein was a convicted sexual predator who admitted guilt in 2008 for procuring underage girls for prostitution.
He faced arrest once more in 2019 on new federal charges related to sex trafficking minors and conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking.

The financier, who associated with global elites ranging from Bill Gates to being photographed with Donald Trump prior to his presidency, was discovered deceased in his New York City jail cell in August 2019, a death that was officially classified as a suicide.

Nevertheless, numerous MAGA supporters dispute that finding, asserting that Epstein did not take his own life and alleging that his death was part of a larger cover-up intended to shield influential individuals involved in his exploitation of minors, as noted by Fox.
