Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow avoided the worst-case injury scenario on Sunday, but it’s still not the update the team wanted.

Joe Burrow left Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second quarter with a foot injury. He limped off the field and did not return, but backup Jake Browning saved the day with a three-touchdown performance in a 31-27 victory.

Well, it sounds like the Bengals will have to continue riding Jake Browning for the foreseeable future.

Per Jeremy Rauch of FOX19, the belief is that Burrow suffered turf toe and multiple torn ligaments. The belief is that the Bengals’ superstar signal-caller will miss multiple weeks, Rauch added.

Though the Bengals moved to 2-0 on the season, their upcoming schedule is awfully unforgiving. Their next four games are against teams who made the postseason a year ago, with three of them on the road

Burrow had seven completions for 76 yards and one touchdown against Jacksonville before leaving the game. He went 14-of-23 for 113 yards and one touchdown in the Week 1 road win over the Cleveland Browns.
