A dog was found with gunshot wounds while walking solo in Nashville on Christmas Day in 2024
The canine, named Scooter, was only 6 months old at the time of the incident
“It was obvious that Scooter had experienced the worst of humans,” nonprofit Wags and Walks said
A dog is looking for his forever home after tragedy.
The canine, named Scooter, was found with gunshot wounds while wandering a rural road alone in Nashville on Christmas Day in 2024, according to Wags and Walks.
At the time, when Scooter was only 6 months old, the nonprofit dog rescue said the pup was “dragging his back legs behind him,” and it appeared he “had horrific wounds on his legs from dragging his legs on the ground.”
“It was obvious that Scooter had experienced the worst of humans,” Wags and Walks added.
A Good Samaritan initially discovered Scooter and brought him to the nearby Maury County Animal Shelter to receive aid.
There, the shelter determined that the dog, “given the severity,” needed to receive assistance from a shelter that could care for his medical needs — and Wags and Walks stepped in.
